Painting at Dartmouth Library

During the winter 2004 I concentrated on a series of interiors at Baker-Berry Library.
The Baker-Berry Library is the main library at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire.

The weather conditions were very harsh to be painting outside. So, it was a good idea keeping warm painting inside this remarkable library. Every day I completed a small painting representing a detail of the library.

I could not predict at that time that four years later I would be doing another project there, Private Portraits/Public Conversations. The 50 portraits commissioned by the Hood Art Museum were performed in a studio at the basement of Baker, just underneath the famous Orozco Murals. And in 2009 one section of those paintings were exhibited at the museum and another section at the library main hall.
