Painting in Denmark
I spent the summer of 2013 in Denmark, first in Kokkedal, north of Copenhagen, and later in Aarhus.
As it was a very hot summer in all Europe, the Danish were complaining when arriving just to 25 Cº (77Fº) as boiling temperatures For me, it was great, painting outside under those “dramatic” conditions.
In Aarhus I painted among other views, a few of Jakobson’s clock of the City Hall. With more time, of course I could be developing a longer project around this unique landmark.
In Denmark I enjoyed visiting some museums, mainly in Copenhagen, and also the Aarhus Museum. At the time there was an exhibition on the Danish Golden Age, with masterpieces of painters I love, such as Vilhelm Hammershøi and Christen Købke.
