Sixteen Clock Movements Around the Church of Lyme
New Hampshire, 2004
Oil on Canvas. 16 pieces of 24 x 11 inches
Painted in June, during the longest days of the year in New England, each painting captures a different hour of the day in a direct correspondence to the position marked by the same clock of the tower. (Example: at noon in front of the church, at nine at a 90 degree perpendicular angle, and so on.)
